As the year begins to wind down and we reflect on the journey of 2023, an incredibly special milestone stands out for us at Cape Studies which celebrates its 28th birthday! This anniversary is not just a marker of time; it is a testament to the spirit of Ubuntu, “I am because you are.” The philosophy of interconnectedness and shared humanity which has always been the philosophy of our school.
We take immense pride in our journey. We have weathered storms, faced challenges, and emerged stronger each time. But our success is not solely ours. It is shared with every student who has graced our classrooms, every staff member who has poured their heart into this mission, and every friend and supporter who has believed in our vision. As suggested by the philosophy of ubuntu we truly are because you are.
Our birthday fell perfectly in the middle of South Africa’s Heritage Month in September. It was a powerful reminder that diversity and inclusion are fundamental to our business, not only a national holiday. Our classrooms are a living mosaic of cultures, religions, and ethnicities because we welcome students from all over the world. English becomes the bridge, not just for language acquisition but for deeper understanding and cultural exchange.
Our students, coming from countries such as Germany, Brazil, Japan, Angola, Saudi Arabia and many more, do not just learn English here; they learn about each other’s worlds. They forge friendships that transcend borders, carrying the lessons of Ubuntu with them wherever they may go. Cape Studies is not just a school; it is a family, fostering the environment for creating lifelong connections.
Of course, our journey has not been without its bumps. Like any business, we have faced challenges, made mistakes, and stumbled along the way. But what sets Cape Studies apart is our unwavering resilience. We have learned from every misstep, grown stronger from every setback, and emerged with an even deeper commitment to our mission: providing the best possible English instruction while creating unforgettable, life-changing experiences for our students.
As we celebrate this 28th milestone, we look to the future with optimism and excitement. Our vision remains unwavering: to be not just a school, but a global community built on inclusivity, respect, and the enduring spirit of Ubuntu. We envision a future where Cape Studies continues to be a beacon of learning, growth, and connection, fostering a world where every individual is welcomed, celebrated, and feels like they belong.
We stand proud as a community, a testament to the power of Ubuntu. And to our students, staff, and supporters, we say thank you. Together, we are Cape Studies, and together, we write the next chapter of this incredible journey. Here is to a future filled with learning, growth, and the enduring spirit of Ubuntu that connects us all.
Happy holidays, rest up and we will see you in the new year!
With gratitude and excitement,
The Cape Studies Team
