As the year comes to a close, we reflect on a time filled with both celebration and deep emotion at Cape Studies Language School. This year marked 30 years of Cape Studies, three decades of welcoming students from around the world who chose learning English in Cape Town as a gateway to new opportunities, friendships, and experiences.
To celebrate this milestone, we proudly launched our “90 Days Around the World” campaign, a joyful tribute to the many cultures, countries, and stories that have shaped our school over the years.
Amidst these celebrations, our community also experienced a profound loss with the passing of Jens von Wichtigen, a central figure and founder, in the heart and history of Cape Studies.
Jens believed deeply in the power of language to connect people across borders and backgrounds. For him, learning English was never just about language, it was about confidence, dignity, and belonging. Under his guidance, Cape Studies grew into a school known not only for academic excellence, but for warmth, inclusivity, and humanity.
During our 30-year celebrations, his presence was felt strongly, in the stories shared, the memories remembered, and the values that continue to guide us. His vision lives on in every classroom and in every student who comes to learn English in Cape Town with us.
A Year of Reflection, Strength, and Community
This year reminded us that growth often comes alongside challenge. While we celebrated three decades of success and global connection through the 90 Days Around the World campaign, we also learned the importance of slowing down, supporting one another, and honouring those who built the foundations we stand on today.
Through it all, our teachers, students, and staff showed resilience, compassion, and unity. These qualities remain the backbone of Cape Studies.
Looking Ahead with Purpose
As we move forward, we do so with gratitude for the past and hope for the future. Cape Studies remains committed to providing high-quality language education for students choosing learning English in Cape Town, while staying true to the values that have shaped the school for 30 years.
Our promise remains unchanged:
• Dedicated and experienced teachers
• Communicative, student-centred learning
• A welcoming international community
• Meaningful cultural exchange in the heart of Cape Town
With Thanks and Remembrance:
As the year ends, we extend our sincere thanks to every student, teacher, partner, and supporter who has been part of our journey, especially during this landmark year.
We celebrate 30 years of Cape Studies with pride, remember Jens with respect and gratitude, and look ahead with confidence and care.
His legacy lives on in every student, every lesson, and every connection made at Cape Studies.
From all of us at Cape Studies, we wish you a peaceful end of year and look forward to welcoming you as we continue to grow, learn, and connect together.
